Daily Reports
How daily construction reports capture work performed, conditions, and a chronological field record for the project.
Updated 2026-08-22
Daily Reports are the chronological field record: what was installed, what blocked work, and what the site looked like on a given date.
Reports can move through statuses such as submitted and approved. The overview uses those statuses as a signal that field reporting has started, not as a complete earned-value engine by itself.
What they are for
- a dated record of work
- input to production totals
- context for issues, delays, and weather
- a trail that closeout and claims teams can read later
Discipline
A daily report that is not submitted cannot help Project Controls. A report that uses different quantity units than the estimate cannot be compared without a mapping step. Prefer the same cost and production categories the commercial team used.
