GeoLab
Foundation evaluation
How GeoLab compares foundation systems such as driven piles, helical piles, ground screws, and ballasted foundations as decision-support — not as sealed design.
Updated 2026-08-22
Foundation evaluation in GeoLab is a structured comparison of options against site and load context. Implemented engines include systems such as driven piles, helical piles, ground screws, and ballasted / concrete foundations, along with related capacity, embedment, and scoring logic.
The set of systems that appear for a given project depends on the analysis configuration and available data. Do not assume every system is recommended on every site.
What is compared
Depending on the run, evaluation can consider:
- axial compression and uplift
- lateral demand
- embedment relative to frost and competent strata
- refusal / rock risk
- constructability and installation method
- corrosion and durability context
- relative cost implications as decision-support, not as a bid
Scoring and reports are intended to make those tradeoffs visible. They are not a ranked “winner” that removes engineering judgment.
Professional boundary
Infrenta provides decision-support tools and does not replace project-specific engineering review or sealed professional design where required.
Use GeoLab to ask better questions of the geotechnical report and the installer, not to skip either.
